When we think of the coastal region, we often imagine sandy beaches and crashing
waves. But the truth is that the coast is so much more than that. It’s a sea to sky territory that encompasses everything from mountains and forests to bustling cities and vibrant communities. It’ a place where you can embrace an active lifestyle, connect with
nature, and experience the beauty of the Pacific Northwest in all its glory.
I was lucky enough to grow up on the West Coast and spend my summers off the grid
on a tiny island. I have always felt a deep connection to the beach, the mountains that rise from the ocean, and the forests in between. Escaping into nature has always been my sanctuary, a way to reset and recharge. I feel blessed to now share this lifestyle with my children.
I love seeing my kids' faces light up as we explore new islands, hike trails, bike paths and ski mountains.
I truly believe life is better when we take the time to focus on the moments that bring us joy. I created Joie Designs, as ‘joie” means joy and joy is the feeling I get when I take in the glorious coastal region. I am happiest when I am spending time outside, especially when I’m on my bike, snowboarding, skiing or swimming in one of the many lakes or the Pacific Ocean. The coastal region never ceases to inspire me with all the beauty it offers. From the Tantalus Range’s rugged peaks to the Coast Mountains’ lush forests to the surf waves of the Pacific Ocean. The Pacific Northwest is a region full of natural beauty, a place where the sea meets the sky, and where you can find a sense of peace and tranquility as well as adventure amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The more I explore, the more JOIE.
I try to emulate and capture this magic… this JOIE in my designs so that I have something that can serve as a little reminder of my happiest moments, a little talisman that offers me temporary respite when life gets too busy and I can’t get outside.

Resort towns like Whistler and Tofino offer world-class outdoor activities, from skiing and snowboarding to surfing and paddle boarding.
Small yet vibrant communities like the Sunshine Coast and Gulf Island offer a more laid-back atmosphere and equally if not more stunning scenery. The perfect encouragement for creating my stylish keepsakes that tells a story.
